Do You Need Balloons, Garland, or a Full Installation? Let’s Talk Balloon Décor

You found the Pinterest photo. You saved it, sent it to your friends, and thought, “Yep. That’s the one.”

Balloon Décor Decisions — What speaks to you most? Is it the color scheme, the details, the quantity, or simply the feeling you get when you see the design? It can be something different for every client, and it all matters. My goal is to help you identify what you love most and find the best fit for your event.

Then you get to the part where you actually have to figure out what you’re booking.

And suddenly, “I want balloons like this” isn’t quite as simple as it sounded.

That’s because balloon décor isn’t really one-size-fits-all. What Pinterest is pulling up when you search “balloon arch” is actually often several different design elements working together — a garland, a backdrop or structure, florals, signage, specialty balloons, or other décor — along with the labor needed to build and install it.

And if you’ve never booked balloon décor before, how would you know that?

I was reminded of this recently when a client watched me install a larger design and told me that, before seeing the process, he had wondered, “That much for balloons?” After watching everything come together, he realized something that is easy to miss when you’re looking at a finished photo:

“I’m not paying for just balloons. I’m paying for your art, and balloons are your tool to make the art.”

That’s an important distinction when you’re looking at inspiration photos, setting a budget, and trying to figure out what kind of Fête service actually makes sense.

Let’s Talk About What You Actually Love

This is where the consultation becomes important.

When you send me an inspiration photo, I don’t just look at it and start recreating what’s in the picture. I want to know what caught your eye in the first place.

Sometimes it’s the balloon design. Sometimes it’s the color palette. Sometimes it’s the flower wall sitting behind it, the florals, the props, the specialty balloons, or even just the overall feeling of the setup.

And those details matter.

A photo might have a beautiful balloon garland in a color palette you love, but it may also include a flower wall, custom signage, foil balloons, florals, props, or a particular backdrop. Those additional elements can completely change the scope of a design.

That’s why I like to talk through your inspiration with you rather than simply treating the photo as a blueprint. I want to figure out what you love most, what you want your décor to accomplish, and which details are actually important to you.

From there, I can help you build a design around those priorities and your budget.

Maybe the color palette is the thing you can’t stop thinking about. Maybe the backdrop is what makes the whole photo for you. Maybe it’s the oversized florals or specialty balloons that tell the story of your event.

There isn’t one right answer. That’s the point of the conversation.

Your inspiration gives us somewhere to start. Our consultation helps us figure out what’s actually worth carrying into your design.

And while inspiration photos are incredibly helpful, they aren't a blueprint for an exact replica. I won’t recreate another balloon stylist’s work piece-for-piece. Instead, I use the elements you love to create something original for your event.

So, Which Fête Service Makes Sense for You?

Once we know what you actually want your décor to accomplish, we can figure out how much of the process makes sense for your event — and your budget.

• Grab & Go Pickup

Grab & Go is exactly what it sounds like: you pick it up, and your décor is prepared and ready to use.

This is a great fit for smaller-scale décor that you can pick up and place yourself — table toppers, smaller garlands, and other standalone pieces that don't need delivery or On-Site Installation.

Budget is often what makes Grab & Go the right fit. If the décor you're looking for can be created within your budget but adding delivery or installation would push the investment beyond what you're comfortable spending, picking it up yourself can be a great way to keep more of your budget in the design.

Table Toppers — A simple, balloon-only décor element that fits easily in any vehicle and adds intentional detail to focal points, food tables, and guest seating areas throughout your event. A great option when you want to carry your theme beyond one main décor design.

• Delivery Only

Delivery Only is the happy middle ground.

I create your décor, bring it to you, and you take it from there. You decide where it goes and handle the setup and breakdown yourself.

This can be a really smart option when you want more décor but don't need On-Site Installation. It can also make sense when event logistics are unpredictable. If you’re hosting a backyard birthday party and have absolutely no idea when your last guest is going to wander home, Delivery Only lets you enjoy your evening without planning around a retrieval window.

If you already have a backdrop, frame, or other structural piece you’d like to use, just let me know during the consultation. For safety and quality reasons, client-provided structures are limited to Grab & Go Pickup or Delivery Only services rather than On-Site Installation.

Freestanding Delivery Garland — A popular choice for Delivery Only clients, freestanding garlands make placement easy while instantly elevating your event décor and bringing your theme into the space — without the installation labor.

• On-Site Installation

On-Site Installation is where Fête handles the delivery, installation, styling, breakdown, and retrieval.

It’s the right fit for larger-scale or more involved designs, installations that need to be built and styled at the venue, or events where having the entire setup handled is the best fit for the design and logistics.

And “more involved” doesn't necessarily mean more balloons or a room full of décor. It could mean incorporating rental pieces, building a design around a backdrop, or installing a single large-scale piece — like an 18-foot garland that needs to be hung in your sunroom. Sometimes it isn't the amount of décor that makes the difference; it's what needs to happen to it once it gets there.

Flower walls are available as standalone rentals or as part of a larger décor design through On-Site Installation. You don't have to add balloons to a flower wall just because Fête is a boutique balloon styling business. If your wedding, shower, birthday, or other event needs a beautiful flower wall, that’s what I want you to book.

Balloons + Flower Walls — Balloons and flower walls each make beautiful standalone décor pieces, but pairing the two creates a really cohesive design that can elevate the entire setup. It’s a combination that isn’t always top of mind, but the two work together beautifully.

Your budget determines how much room we have to work with. From there, your inspiration, the scope of the design, your venue, your event timing, and how much setup you want handled all help determine the best way to bring it together.

That doesn’t mean you need to arrive knowing exactly what your budget should buy. That’s part of what I help you figure out.
